On Friday 2nd October, a modernised high voltage line Szczecin Załom-Goleniów was made operational. It improves energy security in the region, including Goleniów.
The rebuilding of the 110 kV line has continued since May. The entire infrastructure was replaced, including former posts and cable lines. The project is expected to improve efficiency of the line, and provide for connecting new customers, but first and foremost it enhances energy security by reducing the risk of major power failure, similar to the one of spring 2008 when the entire region of Szczecin was deprived of electricity for several days.
The cost of the investment project was PLN 11 million, of which PLN 4 million was provided from the Regional Operational Programme.
