Wizz Air announces a new route to Stockholm Skavsta.
Today, 21 February 2018, Wizz Air, the largest low-cost airline in Central and Eastern Europe, announced a new route from Szczecin-Goleniów. The newest WIZZ service will commence on 14 May and operate with two weekly flights to Stockholm Skavsta, Sweden. Ticket prices, including all charges, start at PLN 39.
‘The announcement of the fourth scheduled service by Wizz Air is evidence
that the cooperation between the Szczecin-Goleniów Airport and the air carrier promotes steady growth of the number of passengers. The cooperation, initiated in 2012, shows that the Westepomeranian Region enjoys major potential
for the development of the air routes network, in particular to Scandinavia. This is where we have observed a growing demand which, in the nearest future, will allow our airport to become the ‘Gateway to Scandinavia’. The route to the Swedish capital announced today fits perfectly into this trend and complements the existing network of services to Oslo, Stavanger and Bergen. We are certain that the new route will be used not only by Poles but also by representatives of the Swedish business whose activity in our region has been steadily growing and Swedish tourists, for whom West Pomerania and its advantages are attractive for short several day leisure trips’, said Maciej Dziadosz, the President of Board at the Szczecin–Goleniów Airport.
At the announcement, Gabor Vasarhelyi, the Corporate Communications Manager
at Wizz Air, said: ‘We are delighted to add another long-awaited route to our ever-growing Polish network. The newest Wizz service connects Szczecin with Stockholm two times a week providing business and leisure travellers with a convenient, low-fare travel option between North-West Poland and the capital of Sweden. We stay committed to Szczecin and our Polish customers and keep on offering the lowest fares, which are always paired with an excellent service on each Wizz flight’.
‘Taking this opportunity, we would like to thank all people, institutions, organisations, local governments and representatives of the media for the dedication and energy you have put into attracting this new route during more than past two years. Our joint success shows that the cooperation of a number of people and institutions substantially contributes to the development of the network of air services
from the Szczecin airport. This bodes very well for the nearest future and yet another new route might soon be attracted, said the President of Board at the Szczecin-Goleniów Airport.
