Four journalists from the other side of the Oder River visited the Goleniów Industrial Park on Thursday 12th April. During their study visit to West Pomerania, organised by the Investors’ and Exporters’ Assitance Center
at the Marshal’s Office, German journalists visited TTS, a yacht plant,
where they met Mayor R. Krupowicz.
The team that visited Goleniów consisted of Katja Geulen, Rundfunk Berlin-Brandenburg radio, Stephan Laude, Märkische Allgemeine Zeitung in Potsdam, Gerald H. Ueberscher, www.reisetravel.eu, and Dietrich Schröder, Märkisches Medienhaus Redaktion. The journalists asked about the significance
of the investment by German companies and the opinion of employees about German employers. They were also interested in current investment opportunities
in the GIP. They could learn that prospective investors still have about 20 ha of land available and further 80 ha is under preparation. Mayor Krupowicz answered their questions about economic challenges faced by the Municipality. It was highlighted that the major issue is the shortage of labour. Therefore, the Municipality decided
to promote building of new apartments by TBS, a social housing society, as well as developers.
Germans, hand in hand with Danes, are in the forefront of foreign investors
in the Municipality of Goleniów. The Goleniów Industrial Park has attracted nine German companies, i.e. DB Schenker (logistics warehouse), Fiege (Zalando return centre), Glancos (production of cosmetics), Rasch (wall paper production), Rhenus Logistics (e-commerce fulfilment centre), sia Abrasives (production of abrasive systems), TWS (production of roller tubes), TTS (yachts) and Weber (technological tanks). The list ends with Drobimex situated beyond the industrial park (poultry production). The companies listed employ about 2 thousand people. At least half
of them have not ended their investment process and planned to reinvest in Goleniów.
